The situation in the Eastern Congo is rapidly declining. Rebels have overtaken the city of Bukavu and the Congolese military and government have withdrawn.
The key supply routes for food distribution have been disrupted and nearly all sources of humanitarian aid are on pause. Widespread looting, both in the city and throughout the surrounding region, further compounds the crisis.
