What an amazing year it’s been
What a transformational year it’s been. This year, with your help, Congo Restoration has:

  • Built a permanent sewing school building.
  • Taught sewing skills to 80 young women, now local entrepreneurs in charge of their financial futures.
  • Celebrated the graduation of 40 6th-grade students who then moved on to a local partner school, our first graduating class!
  • Added a new library to our primary school.
  • Added three new toilets to accommodate our growing primary school.

For 2025, we have big plans once again:
  • Two more classes — 80 young women — will graduate from our sewing school, including one in January.
  • Our current 6th-grade class will graduate from our all girls’ primary school in the summer, joining the class before them at a nearby Catholic school and continuing their education — something so very rare for girls in rural DRC.
  • We will continue to make improvements to our primary school by adding a teacher/staff bathroom, an additional water catchment tank, and more fun things for our school library. We’re even eyeing the possibility of building a chicken coop so we have fresh eggs for our students (protein builds those young brains!).
  • We also plan to add electricity to our sewing school building.
  • Several members of our board and long-time sponsors will go to DRC this summer to attend a sewing school graduation and meet our primary students.

We couldn’t do any of this without you. And we are so thankful for your gifts and confidence in our young women and girls.

As you plan your involvement in 2025, we wanted you to know that our greatest need is sponsorship of 25 primary school students. Please visit www.congorestoration.org for more information on sponsoring a student and other ways you can support our women and girls.

And thanks for changing the trajectory of our students’ lives. And Happy New Year!
