And we could all use some good news about now, right?
Here’s what you need to know about the goings-on at Congo Restoration in October:
- Our 7th-grade students — our first class of girls who graduated from Congo Restoration Girls School of Compassion — are doing well at their new school down the street. We are so proud of these 40 original students and will continue to support them (funding their tuition) as they continue their education.
- An event of amazing women, WAM, raised almost $22,000 for the Congo Restoration Sewing School earlier this month. This money will fund the infrastructure to bring water and electricity to our new school building, new sewing machines for the school, and graduation packages (sewing machines and sewing kits) for our current 40 students who will graduate in January.
- Congo Restoration will be selling items from our sewing school at two markets around Dallas this month: Global Village Market at Greenland Hills United Methodist Church the weekend of Nov. 2-3 and Sharing the Joy at Keller United Methodist Church the weekend of Nov. 9-10.
